The work for this series explores a world-view that all things are participants in a great cosmic chain of being that is billions of years old. The exploration of this world-view has awakened a mindfulness in me regarding our planet and the universe.
Scientists tell us that the building blocks of all that has lived or will ever live existed in some form at the moment of the Big Bang. If this general concept of an expanding universe and a Big Bang is correct we are left with the questions, “What were conditions like before the Big Bang? Was anything happening then?”
I focused on these questions to inspire 'We Are Star Stuff'. These questions led me to much ‘cosmic musing’, which again led to a desire to visually represent the ‘essence’ of some non-human earthly life forms prior to the Big Bang.
The compositions are my own imaginary concepts of the imprints of theses life forms and their impression within the mysterious pre Big Bang star stuff.
